Roof Repairs

Liverpool Roofs handles everything from a single slipped slate to a whole run of failed ridge tiles. Most repairs include slipped or missing tiles re-bedded and re-nailed, ridge tile re-bedding in flexible polymer mortar, lead flashing repairs to back gutters and abutments, storm damage response, valley cleaning and re-lining, and roof window re-sealing. We have a dedicated repair van and a 24-hour call-out rota for active leaks — we can usually be on-site within 60–90 minutes in central Merseyside.

New Roofs & Re-Roofing

A proper re-roof means a full strip-and-recover: existing covering removed, all battens replaced to BS 5534, breathable membrane fitted throughout (no bitumen felt), new treated battens, your choice of covering (Welsh slate, Spanish T1, clay tile, concrete interlocking, or synthetic slate), dry ridge and verge as standard, all leadwork replaced, ventilation to current Building Regs, and Building Control notification handled for you. Most 3-bed semis take 5–8 working days. Typical prices range from £7,500 for concrete tile to £18,000 for Welsh slate on a standard terrace.

Flat Roofing

Modern flat roofing, done properly, should last 25–50 years with no maintenance beyond occasional gutter clearing. We fit the three main domestic systems — Firestone EPDM rubber (single-piece membrane, 20-year warranty), GRP fibreglass (seamless hard-wearing finish, ideal for balconies), and SBS torch-on felt — plus commercial single-ply (Sika Sarnafil, IKO Armourplan) for larger jobs. A typical 25m² kitchen-extension flat roof runs £2,400–£4,400 including strip, deck replacement, membrane, trims and gutter outlet.

Guttering, Fascias & Soffits

The "roofline" — fascias, soffits, bargeboards and the guttering hanging off them — is usually the first part of your roof to fail. We handle everything from a one-metre gutter re-run to a complete roofline replacement on all four elevations. All work in uPVC (white, black, anthracite grey, golden oak or rosewood) or aluminium. Ventilated soffits fitted as standard to meet current Building Regs. Includes rafter tail repair where needed, new fascia, new guttering, new downpipes, and a 10-year workmanship guarantee plus 20-year colourfast warranty on the uPVC.

Chimney & Leadwork

Chimneys and lead flashings are the two hardest parts of any roof to get right, and the bits that fail first. Our chimney services cover repointing (in lime mortar for pre-1919 stacks, cement for post-war), flaunching renewal, pot re-bedding, full rebuilds, stack removal down to ridge, and cap-and-vent for redundant flues. All leadwork is to BS EN 12588 using rolled Code 4, Code 5 or Code 6 lead, bossed at corners (no plastic corner pieces or silicone), and patinated at completion. Lead valleys, bay-window tops, dormer cheeks and chimney flashings all handled.
